Origin of music
The origin of music dates back to the birth of language. However, historians argue whether if music formed before during or after language was made. The first evidence of the use of music dates back to the prehistoric time back to 38,000BC. Music is used by many ancient civilizations such as the Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Chinese to list a few. The first written pieces of music date to the ancient era, such as the Rigveda and the Shijing. Over the course of human history, music have developed and evolved into many genres and types of music we listen to today.
Genres of music
Music has many genres, from rock, loud, crude, and full of words, to classical, quiet, sophisticated, and rarely has words. These genres are plentiful and very unique from one another. However, Western classical music is considered by historians to be the first genre used by ancient civilizations. This makes sense because during this time, there were only simple tools or instruments to produce said music. With advances in technology and more advanced philosophies granting people greater freedom of expression, the variety of music evolved alongside them. The latest music genre to produced is pop, forming in the late 1950s in the USA and Britian.
